The salon degrees of the Faculty of Business at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) has welcomed this morning the Third Conference on Control and Smoking Cessation, inaugurated by the Rector of the Polytechnic, Jose Antonio Franco, and the Minister Health Catherine Lorenzo.
These seminars aim to establish links between different professionals working for the prevention, control and treatment of smoking in the region and promote the exchange of experiences on methodologies and show the effectiveness of prevention, control and treatment.
The organizing committee of the conference is Angel Lopez, a professor at Polytechnic University of Cartagena, which this morning discussed his research on the impact on the hospitality of smoke-free laws.
The Minister of Health has reported that the age at which the population of the region starts smoking is 14'4 years, but added that the average of smokers is lower than the national average.
"From the Department fought with smoking education and prevention workshops in schools in the region," said Lorenzo.
The conference control and treatment of tobacco continue this afternoon at 13:45 hours with the round table 'Electronic Cigarette and legislative measures' and continue at 16:30 with the meeting between free snuff hospitals in the region.
The event will end at 18:45 pm with the reading of the conclusions and closing ceremony.
