The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) and the Directorate General of Universities allocated 52,000 euros to tuition scholarships and study grants.
This call may be eligible, including students without a grant from the Ministry of Education and students with low family incomes.
The application deadline is 30 May.
The objective of the call is "to prevent students at the Polytechnic can not continue their studies for reasons of an economic nature," the Vice Chancellor for Student and University Extension, Francisco Martinez.
The call has two modes.
One goes to tuition scholarships.
They can apply for students who have not earned a scholarship MECD general (Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports) that do not meet the required academic requirements or because they have requested.
The second type, study grants, is targeted at students, have expenses, residence or a low level of income in the household.
Exceptional Circumstances
The call also includes those exceptional circumstances supervening situations which led to the worsening of the economic situation of the family or an inadequate student achievement linked to these situations, as the Vice Chancellor.
In this regard, he cites Martinez, families whose economy has been hampered by natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes;
others such as domestic violence, assault or abuse or serious illness or death of any member by family illness.
This case also includes unemployment situations the main breadwinners of the family unit.
