Recovered two guns of the eighteenth century and ruins from Roman times (15/05/2014)

The Guardia Civil of the Region of Murcia, in collaboration with the Heritage Service of the Directorate General of Cultural and Artistic Education of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities, has developed a research Cartagena has recovered two guns from S. XVIII and three stones from the Roman era, who were in a junkyard and a warehouse, respectively, resulting imputed to a person for alleged misappropriation.

Thanks to the cooperation of citizens, civil guards ROCK Service team and Nature Protection (SEPRONA) Cartagena obtained valuable information on the allegedly irregular situation of different parts of a high historical value were in the area of ​​the city port, so an investigation was initiated to determine the facts.

The Civil Guard established the first research line on two guns with hundreds of years old that were in a property management metal waste from Cartagena.

Soon after, the researchers also found in a warehouse in Cartagena three pieces consisting of a Tuscan based, a pool and roughing ashlar, all of the Roman period and archaeological value is to be determined.

Coordination with the Heritage Service of the Region of Murcia

The Civil Guard was coordinated with the Heritage Service of the Region of Murcia to specify the age of the remains found and lift the corresponding act of seizing and tank effects.

The guns and the artifacts have been seized and deposited in a precautionary manner in the Municipal Archaeological Museum of Cartagena to guard and prevent spoilage while ownership is determined.

During the investigation, the policemen found that the now defendant allegedly seized parts was offering for sale.

Lacking the requisite documentation establishing ownership of guns and the archaeological remains, the Meritorious proceeded to the complaint of the person in whose possession the effects, on suspicion of the crime of misappropriation were.

The accused, seized parts and the proceedings have been brought before the Magistrate's Court in Cartagena (Murcia).
