Councilman Social Care, Antonio Calderon, last week received the consuls of Ecuador and Bolivia, Cecilia Sarango and Omar Enrique Gutierrez.
The visit is part of the program that is developed within the Department of Social Affairs in providing care to the immigrant.
Celebrating Inti Raymi 2014, on 21 June, was the main issue which was addressed in this meeting to order and coordinate the cooperation of the City in the Sun Festival The objective of this activity is the interest of governments to both countries in the dissemination of their customs, allowing the inhabitants of our region know their identity as multicultural countries.
It is an ancient ceremony in honor of the God Inti (Sun God among the Incas) that each winter solstice was performed in the Andes and lasted 15 days, the most important festival celebrated in Cusco and later throughout Tawantinsuyu which Ecuador was part during the Inca period, indicating half of the year, making dances and sacrifices.
Among the events planned for this day include the choice of Ã'ustas 2014, the performance of groups of Ecuadorian and Bolivian folk dance and holding a sacred ritual in honor of Inti Sol, taking due to the presence of a thousand people across the Region.
