Cartagena has earned ten blue flags this year, two of them new, and is situated at the head of the Spanish Mediterranean municipalities in number of such awards that reward water quality, environmental management, safety and services swimmers.
Only in Galicia, the town of Sanxenxo has lugrado a greater number of flags throughout Spain, as reported by the Councillor for Tourism, Palazón Carolina.
These awards make Cartagena is the sixth consecutive year the municipality pimer Mediterranean Blue Flags of Spain in the first Q of Quality for the fifth year.
The new award winning beaches were the Flat and Playa Honda Island, in addition to which they were honored last year and kept its flag, which are the Cala del Pino, the beaches of Levante and Poniente Minor Islands, Sea Crystal, Levante Beach in Cabo de Palos, Cala Cortina, San Ginés and Playa Paraiso.
To them the distinction that has been renovated to the Blue Trail Cabo de Palos-La Manga must be added.
FIRST IN Q
Palazón Cartagena has insisted he remains the most awarded Spanish town beaches, because the blue flags must be added eleven Q Quality beaches granted to as many beaches of Cartagena.
The Councillor for Tourism believes that these distinctions should be understood as an endorsement of the work that the City performs maintenance throughout the year and at this time is doubled thanks to the efforts of municipal workers.
Q Quality Flag is granted annually on Tourism Quality Institute (ICTE) and requires not only possess the beaches and waters clean sands, but have the necessary security services, rescue, entertainment, information, cleaning , control bars and hygienic conditions on the beaches and facilities.
The beaches with this certification are San Ginés of Azohía, Cala Cortina, Minor Outlying Islands, Playa Honda, Mar de Cristal, Cala del Pino, Cavanna beach, Barco Perdido beach, Galúa beach, Playa de Levante and Playa de The Gola.
