Work will include a bike lane on the section between the roundabout at First Avenue to the IES Salinas del Mar Menor, and the replacement of pavement in the school access to the Mediterranean.

Cartagena City Council has put out to tender by open procedure, the construction of a bike lane in La Manga, in the stretch from the roundabout on First Avenue to Salinas IES Mar Menor and the replacement of paving on the access road to the Mediterranean CEIP La Manga, which were impaired.
This action is to respond to the demands of the residents and, chiefly, students in the area, referring to the need to improve communications and access to both schools.
The tender budget of the contract is 105,000 euros and the execution time of three months, as set out in the notice published in the 13 May BORM.
Interested parties may submit their bids until the 10th of June in the registry of the Administrative Contracting Unit, located on the first floor of the Administration Building.
The works consist of the preparation of the strip intended for bike path through rasanteado and leveling existing terrain with artificial gravel, then a layer of hot mix asphalt will extend and finally proceed to the road markings with white acrylic paint.
Regarding the access road to the CEIP Mediterranean, one of the sidewalks is new, but which runs along the school is the one that is in poor condition, so we will proceed to demolition and new construction of other similar features .
The materials to be used are, precast concrete curb, gravel to fill, gravel and tile similar to the other side terrazzo.
Meanwhile, on the road bituminous hot mix will spread.
