Auditorium Room A El Batel host this Friday, May 9, at 20.00 hours, the act Prize Giving and Closing of the XVII edition of the contest between strings and brass, a hotly contested issue in the eight modes (guitar , string, percussion, voice, woodwinds, brass wind, flamenco and piano), where finalists defended interpretative repertoires with high level professionalism.
In total, there have been 151 young people from different conservatories and music schools throughout the region. Alumni Conservatories of Music in Cartagena, Murcia, Lorca, San Javier, Cieza, Jumilla, Caravaca de la Cruz, Molina de Segura and Music Schools Chaplin, Kodaly and Anmavi have shown their talent the last two months in the auditorium of the Music Conservatory of Cartagena, in the concert series of semifinals and finals of between strings and brass.
And this year, as a novelty, has included a category in the contest, the FLAMENCO, in their modes of singing and flamenco guitar, specialties began to be taught at the Conservatory of Cartagena in 2009-2010 in response demand expressed in the region, a land of great flamenco tradition, epitomized by the prestigious internationally renowned festival Cante de las Minas de La Unión.
Jurors have been complicated in its verdict, which will be announced at the closing ceremony, which begins with the interpretation of Paula Bernal Puche, winner of last year in the form of piano.
Paula construed by the Cartagena Chamber Orchestra, directed by Andrés Pérez Barnabas, the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra Op 50, No. 3 Kabalevsky.
The second part of the act will continue the awards ceremony of the XVII edition in all modalities convened and, finally, the grand finale of the closure will put the Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatory of Cartagena, also directed by Perez Barnabas, with interpretation of an unreleased piece, heard in our city only once in its premiere at the conservatory, on 7 March.

This young composer Jumillano already has a lengthy resume.
Notably, in his musical career, his intense collaboration that begins in 1999 with the film music composer Roque Baños, with whom he has worked as a copyist and assistant orchestra in more than 30 films, including Alatriste, Cell 211, The Oxford Murders, Intruders or Evil Dead (2013).
As a composer, in the audiovisual world, out from their winning works at various festivals: Copyright Juanjo Vargas, Chuzos tip and routine Suda Sánchez, Diego Paradise Doors, ...
In 2012 composed the music for his first film Two friends, Polo Menárguez run, and the short film Across Alicia Albares.
And in 2014 the official music composed ceremony of Feroz Awards, awarded by the Association of Film Widgets Spain and the Opening Fanfare for Cortópolis, International Short Film Festival in Madrid.
