The race course of Minor Islands Yacht Club, in the Mar Menor, this Easter, becoming 14 to 20 April, on the stage of the Championship of Spain of Dinghy Class 420. Around 250 sailors were given together in this competition was attended by a total of 74 boats.
A large group of athletes from different parts of Spain attended this meeting, namely 7 regions.
Although also involved a German representation 9 boats and 18 sailors.
For the region, it did not want to miss the appointment teams Cartagena Yacht Club, the Club Nautico Mar Menor at Los Alcazares and the Yacht Club Santiago de la Ribera.
We have kids with great potential and a race course where wind of 20 knots you can navigate perfectly, something that does not occur in the open sea, claimed responsible for organizing the event, Fernando Ros, during the presentation of the championship.
This event was also attended by the president of the Sailing Federation of the Region of Murcia, Pedro Román, President of the Yacht Club of smaller islands, Antonio Vidal, and the mayor of Sports, Diego Ortega.
The importance of this championship was that this event would leave the national team that will represent Spain at the World and European.
In the category of juveniles were Galicians Andrés à Alvarez and Sergio Rodriguez who made ​​the victory to Club Liceo Casino Villagarcia. Sonia Spider and M ª Jesús Dávila remained in first place in the female with the Yacht Club Padlock.
As for the absolute mode, José Manuel Ruiz and Fernando Davila managed to stay in first place with the Club and NM Less Padlock.
At the closing ceremony and awards ceremony attended by the president of the Spanish Sailing Federation, José Ángel Rodríguez, accompanied by the president of the Sailing Federation of the Region of Murcia, Pedro Román, President of the Yacht Club Minor Outlying Antonio Vidal, Eduardo Navy Sports Activities Coordinator City of Cartagena and the official Commodore of the race, Fernando Ros.
The Championship was organized by the Yacht Club of smaller islands in collaboration with the Department of Sports City of Cartagena and the Sailing Federation of the Region of Murcia.
