The DELI project got underway yesterday with the first contact between the different agents that coordinate this program. Encourage more efficient local policies in support of immigrants in the business sector is the main objective of this initiative co-funded is marked the Council of Europe and the European Integration Fund.
The city of Cartagena is working through the Agency of Local Development and Employment (ALDE) and the Department of Social Services.
Yesterday took place the first meeting between the agents that work with immigrants in the city, City Council and technicians responsible for ACCEM and CEPAIM. During the meeting the bases and arguments of this project as well as the lines of work were explained that they will develop.
The creation of working groups, workshops and platforms with associations and groups in the city where the importance of diversity in the company work, and the benefits of implementing it are examples to be discussed in this program.
The project schedule includes meetings and work platforms with associations and immigrant entrepreneurs, immigrant associations and stakeholders in the public and private administration in the development of new lines of work for diversity and creating business immigrants incorporating work and benefits to the economy of the city.
The project will run until June 2015.
The program includes the participation of nine other European cities: Bucharest (Romania), Getxo (Spain), Dublin (Ireland), Munich (Germany), Lisbon (Portugal), London-Lewisham (UK), Emiiia Reggio (Italy) , Rotterdam (Netherlands) and Vienna (Austria).
