The City Council and nursing homes, hosting 45 student workers who have acquired their theoretical training in the fields of geriatric care, and Administrative Management and Data Recording in the Occupational Training Center Quarry
The workers involved 45 students in the Joint Program on Employment and Training Agency for Local Development and Employment have started their work practices in nursing homes and in various departments of the City of Cartagena.
To carry out this program, which is aimed at unemployed between 25 and 54 in order to facilitate their employment, the ALDE has signed cooperation agreements with the City, the Messengers of Peace Association and the Little Sisters of the Poor .
Three are developed specialties, with 15 students per course, such as geriatric care to dependent people in Social Institutions, Administrative Management Activities;
and Operations and Data Recording and Documents.
The program lasts for 12 months, 1920 hours, which include theoretical training in each of the 3 specialties and work experience so that the student workers, which has made ​​a contract for training and learning, perceived the minimum wage.
Once you have completed the theoretical training provided by trainers skilled in the art at the Occupational Center in Canteras ALDE, students now perform their Laboras practices, so that the fields of Management and Administrative Record and the Data Processing developed in various municipal departments and specialty geriatric care in seniors residences Virgen del Mar and the Little Sisters of the Poor.
The practices are based on the philosophy of learning by working as a cornerstone of this type of program that allows, on the one hand, students implement what they learn in the classroom and on the other hand, they can connect to the world of work a real work environment.
At the end of the program, students who successfully complete the theoretical and practical training and assessment tests carried out, the corresponding receive your certificate of occupational specialty.
The Joint Programme for Employment Training is funded by the Agency for Local Development and Employment of Cartagena, the Regional Employment and Training of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, the Ministry of Employment and Social Security and the European Union, through the European Social Fund.
