The vice mayor, Jose Cabezas, stood this morning to mark the completion of a traveling exhibition of the Treasury of the Mercedes, the opportunity afforded to promote Cartagena as its permanent headquarters.
The exhibition, organized by the Ministry of Culture, will land in the National (MAN) Archaeological Museum and the Naval Museum from May.
In addition, the city spokesman also reminded today that after complicated negotiations, was appointed to the Museum of Underwater Archaeology in Cartagena as a destination for the entire collection of coins and place for restoration and permanent display.
On the other hand, was the Ministry which was commissioned to design an exhibition that includes the display of the treasure coins and different goods that have already been restored.
For Deputy Mayor Jose Cabezas this temporary exhibition is not a threat to Cartagena but a way to promote this historical find that living in the port city.
In Cartagena not be exposed for a year, nor two, but any citizen within two, 20 or 50 years want to see the coins will have to do in this city, stressed José Cabezas, who added that Cartagena is the city and the treasure forever.
The Government's aim is that this traveling exhibit can also be visited in Cartagena, although mostly interested in making permanent sample to house the Museum where exhibit forever treasure coins.
