Daniel Stephen, a computer Murcia 28, managed from his home in Cartagena a web application that allows more than 5,000 companies in 24 countries posting jobs and hiring workers through internet.
Esteban began collaborating with the project in 2010, when he was a free software project that allowed anyone to create a portal for classified ads.
Esteban took the original idea and launched in mid-June 2013 a side project based on this free software exclusively focused job advertisements.
In January, the project has already become a robust application that currently supports 12,000 deals work.
"We are especially large in Mexico, Colombia and Peru where half of the companies using my software are located," says Stephen.
In addition to these three countries, its application is also used in other countries more exotic, such as Malaysia, Iran and Lithuania.
Free software as a competitive advantage
Esteban, who studied mathematics at the University of Murcia and completed several years of study at universities in Brussels and the United States, notes that one of the main advantages of the tool is that it is based on free software that allows anyone to modify and improve the code.
"The experience I had with the project made me realize that people are much more receptive to test your software if it is open source, as it has all the guarantees that can review everything you do, which do not allow solutions closed code of large companies, "he adds.
The business model of Murcia entrepreneur based on the concept of freemium: "We offer a free service for everyone, but companies can improve through micropayments, is very similar to using the mobile gaming companies like Candy Crush" explains Stephen.
Poryecto currently consists of a team of five people, four of whom work in Barcelona under the direction of Murcia.
"The idea of working in an office and clocking by sitting next to your peers is no longer valid, our software is used by companies that cover the entire map schedule, starting with Indonesia and finish in Chile, it is absurd to keep thinking times eight hours a day working in an office in person. "
For Cartagena, "running a business with international vision no longer depends on being located in a capital or have good roads, enough to have an internet connection and will to do so. We, for example, we launched the first version in English of the web, then came the Spanish and finally a Polish version. "
The portal currently in excess of 400,000 hits per month and is intended to end 2014 at over one million.
"With that number we could say that we are already above some large American companies engaged in human resources software for decades," he says.
Every 30 days your application 2,000 announcements of new employment to an average of 13,000 people are targeted are published.
"Unfortunately, we have almost no Spanish companies using our project, the economic situation has made no special effort to capture dedicate jobs in Spain, hopefully the situation will change in the coming months for the good of all," adds Stephen.
While each day an average of 20 new companies decide to use this software designed and managed from Cartagena, Esteban hopes to regain some time to push the project.
"It's a very powerful idea to allow anyone without prior technical knowledge to assemble a web classifieds."
This software to create portals ranked ads are not computer literate and has been translated into over 12 languages and recorded over 65,000 downloads per month worldwide.
Esteban expected soon for the same growth that the implementation of job portals and become another company with international operations managed and designed from Murcia.
