The school garden project that launched the Agency of Local Development and Employment within their Barrios-ALDE program
in collaboration with the Children Schools of the Department of Education, has become a training and educational resource, on the one hand, to train 8 unemployed in the municipality with a course of Gardening and Urban gardens, and secondly, to teach the smaller attitudes of care and environmental responsibility.
Thus, this action, which was launched in February, is to combine the professional practices of gardening knowledge among school children in this area related to values, so that, in nurseries, children from 1 year age begin to take responsibility for the care of the plants in your garden and learn the importance of values ​​such as patience, perseverance, or the value of daily work.
This is the case of the Infant School Virgin of Charity neighborhood, where students of the course of the ALDE been performed tasks such as measuring and planning the plot, contribution of topsoil and organic land, job profiling ridges, installation drip irrigation and jointing for growing tomatoes, while children were in charge of planting and planting watermelons, eggplants, peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, strawberries and herbs.
Furthermore, it has also been constructed with a vertical garden recycled based on aromatic and shortenings, which can then enjoy materials.
Upon completion of the course, which will be in May, the unemployed engaged in the same conduct internships in companies.
