The General Meeting of Shareholders of the company High Speed ​​Cartagena, at a meeting this morning in Madrid, has approved the proposal of the City to locate the city railway station in the northern part of the Eixample, beside Mandarache.
The City of Cartagena and the Ministry of Public Works spent months working on this new location located on land owned by the city and connected perfectly with the road infrastructure of the Mediterranean axis.
The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, believes that the new station site accelerates the speed train to the city, a must for the tourist and industrial growth of the village infrastructure.
The AGM also approved the draft order the new north station and initiate environmental and administrative procedures that allow their bidding and start of works.
Secretary General of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, Manuel Niño, presided over the meeting which was also attended by the President of ADIF, Gonzalo Ferré and the Minister of Public Works of the Autonomous Community, Antonio Sevilla.
