Between strings and brass has been overwhelmed their expectations in regards to the number of entries received in this seventeenth edition of the competition organized by the Department of Youth and Music Conservatory of Cartagena.
In total 151 young people participate, students professional music distributed in the categories of voice, guitar, percussion, metal, strings, piano, woodwinds and flamenco, the latter including new this year.
In this seventeenth edition, involve young people from different conservatories and music schools throughout the region, including: the Music Conservatory of Cartagena, Murcia, Lorca, San Javier, Cieza, Jumilla, Caravaca de la Cruz, Molina de Segura and Music Schools Chaplin, Kodaly and Anmavi.
The competition consists of two phases, a playoff will take place during the month of March, and a final, which will be in April, in the Auditorium of the Conservatory of Music.
Admission to the concert will be free until all seats.
As for the awards, a total of 8,800 euros, setting u n shared first prize in each of the modalities, 750 euros, and a second of 350 euros.
The awards ceremony will be held on May 9 at the Auditorium and Congress Palace El Batel, in a ceremony that included the closing concert, where Paula Puche Bernal, I prize in the piano last year's competition, will perform accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena, closing the act Orchestra of the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena.
