The Mysterion exposure.
The vision of the transcendent in Byzantium, which opened on December 18 in the Roman Theatre Museum, coinciding with the celebration of the holidays, is extended until February 10, with free guided tours on Saturdays.
The show aims to move the viewer's vision of Christmas in Byzantium through three icons of Master Craftsman of the Region of Murcia, Mariano Hernández, director Mhega Iconography Workshop.
The artisan collects all the artistic tradition of the icon to bring into inspired originals dating back to medieval times and modern works, and the sample has had the collaboration of the Byzantine scholar researcher, Jaime Vizcaino.
In it you can see the icon of the Annunciation prototype takes a work by artist Vlassis Tsotsonis where the archangel wears a stole rich like those carried by the Byzantine emperors to mark the festivities jeweled.
The Nativity inspired by a school board of the famous Russian artist Andrei Rublev, dating from the fifteenth century, and finally the Triptych The Virgin and Christ lives modeled a work dating from the mid-thirteenth century, preserved in the Egyptian monastery of St. Catherine at Sinai.
The exhibition includes a display case where the complex process of preparing the icon is explained.
Guided tours on Saturdays 11, 18 and 25 January and 1 and Feb. 8 will be made ​​at 11.30 hours.
