Higher Technical School of Agricultural Engineering (ETSIA) of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena this morning its new crop of organic wine Tomás Ferro, developed at the Experimental Station of Agro same name in the council of La Palma Cartagena.
The harvest of 2013 has generated 5,000 liters of white wines and red wines that combine traditional with modern production technologies.
In particular, we have produced 4,000 liters of white wine grape variety The Meseguera, native to the region of Cartagena, whose culture UPCT researchers intend to keep.
"We have increased production in the own farm and are now in talks with small farmers to buy back a part of their harvest in order to encourage future crops of grapes The Meseguera be preserved," explains Pedro Antonio Albaladejo, responsible for production.
Red wine, made with grapes Syrah and Monastrell, 1000 liters were bottled by a novel method.

Thomas Ferro wine can be purchased on the premises of the English Court and Bodegas Bernal in Cartagena.
