Social organizations working in the Municipality of Cartagena, as are Accem, Alraso, Caritas, Columbares, CEPAIM Foundation Welcomes Murcia, have joined this morning in a common act, the commemoration of International Migrants Day.
The event, which was attended by the Councillor for Social Care, Antonio Calderon, has been to read a manifesto ACCEM headquarters, located in the Virgin of Charity neighborhood.
In it, he emphasized the need to recognize that migration is a right, as anyone should be free to take his life instead that guarantees an improvement in your life.
As pointed Calderón, migration is there and we can not close our eyes to this reality that also in our city is very evident why the City Council is working to standardize the process of integration of these people and to be peaceful coexistence .
In manifientes there has also been a reminder to those affected by disasters in the past year, as the unfortunate events of Lampedusa, in which nearly 400 people died trying to reach the Italian coast for protection.
Finally, there has been a
memory for all those who have had the courage and determination to leave their country to start an integration process in another country to give her hope, behind every person or migrant family is a true story of courage and suffering in search of hope, of possibility, and survival.
