Coinciding with the celebration last week of the Regional Conference on Youth Guarantee, representatives of the various Spanish pilot that have been approved and funded by the European Commission projects, have decided to take steps to become Spanish Project Network Youth Guarantee. This initiative came from the city of Cartagena, host of other institutions that are launching projects Youth Guarantee and were invited to this conference.
The Network's objectives is the exchange of information and experiences, collaboration and technical cooperation, communication between the respective local partners, creating a bank of best practices, optimization of resources and labor, and collegial dialogue against Government of Spain and the European Commission.
It was attended by representatives of the Valencian Community, Xunta Galicia, the Canary Islands, Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, and representatives of municipalities of Avilés, Gijón and Cartagena.
A technician from the European Commission was also present.
Now the different institutions will have to decide formally joining the Network, which will also be invited to l Ministry of Employment and Social Security.
The importance of this network, which will invite the participation of all the Spanish Youth Guarantee projects on existing or that may exist in the future is very important because it is a space for coordination and cooperation between different authorities and institutions in a line that will be central in the fight against youth unemployment in Europe and Spain.
This week the government of Spain approved plans r lines of what will be the National System of Youth Guarantee that all European countries should have defined and presented to the European Commission before the end of the year.
For Youth Guarantee a type of public action to ensure that the target group of young, unemployed or who have completed a course of education, aged between 16 and 24 years, have access to a job, to be understood study, training or activation measures within a period not exceeding four months from the time they leave education or into unemployment.
The European Commission has decided to dedicate 6,000 million euros to this project in two years (2014-2015), of which 1.800 billion for Spain.
The Spanish government has determined to be 40.8 million for the region, and the Youth Guarantee will be a key line in this action projects aimed at reducing youth unemployment figures that are enormously high in the region.
