With these words the mayor Pilar Barreiro tore officially campaign to collect toys this year referring to the generosity of Cartagena.
From Friday open to the public every delivery points as the Students of the Polytechnic University and the Hospital de Santa Lucía, among others.
Although it was inaugurated today as you could from December 4 you donate toys in centers Eroski, El Corte Ingles and Practiser.
Also, this week the Chief of Cartagena Arsenal, Fernando Zumalacárregui, Admiral himself was delivering the first toy donated by this institution for the campaign.
So Arsenal doors opened to welcome anyone who would like to cooperate in this joint initiative.
The campaign to collect toys and has become a tradition over the city of Cartagena, where each year more and more material for those children who need it most is achieved. As the figures of last year, the population overturn this action marks the beginning of this holiday season, the mayor stressed.
Last year 2,340 toys were collected and requested 1,370, figures that are to double in 2013. On December 28 is the deadline for any party to donate a toy, preferably new and is unpacked, so that all children have one or more gifts at Reyes.
The mayor was accompanied at the ceremony, held in the administration building of City Hall in San Miguel, the Councillor for Social Care, Antonio Calderon and other elected officials of the government team.
