Education and Employment for discussion at the Regional Conference on Youth Guarantee (11/12/2013)

On 12 and 13 December are held in Cartagena Regional Conference Building the Youth Guarantee.

A European bet for training and employment, organized by the City Council and the Ministry of Education, Universities and Employment and the participation of over 200 people is planned.

This meeting will focus on the draft European Youth Guarantee, which aims to raise awareness of the opportunities offered by the implementation of this new rights-based approach to public policy in education and youth employment.

The conference, to be held at the Faculty of Business at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, will enable a first approach to the concept of Youth Guarantee and analyze some of the precursors of the same experiences in Europe as well as several pioneering initiatives that are being designed in Spain.

The conference will bring together technical Youth public and private sector, because in them the role to be played by the different actors involved in the implementation of the Youth Guarantee system in the region will be discussed as well as how to strengthen collaboration and cooperation among agents.

This initiative, collected in the Youth Training Plan of the Directorate General for Prevention of Domestic Violence, Youth, Legal Protection and Reform Under the Presidential, aims to discuss, reflect and raise awareness on the situation of young people and their impact and social significance.

COMMITMENT TO JÃ "VENES

The Youth Guarantee is defined as the commitment of the administration and the Public Employment Services to provide work experience, training or refresher courses to young people having lost their jobs or after completing its passage through the formal education system.

It seeks to ensure equal opportunities for youth in the labor market.

In this line, the city of Cartagena presented a draft Youth Guarantee to the European Commission, one of the few initial projects selected to be performed in Spain.

To this end, the European Commission has approved a budget of 6,000 million euros, of which about 920 million would be earmarked for Spain in 2014, under the actions under the Strategy of Entrepreneurship and Employment promoted by the Government.
