The mayor received the check today with the donation that divide the Department of Social Services, in order that the neediest families can enjoy dinner, breakfast and lunch on Christmas Eve and Christmas
For the second year, the Social Work of Caixa co works with the city of Cartagena giving a donation to the Department of Social Services to assist with the expenses of the needy families during this holiday season.
The mayor, Pilar Barreiro, has been commissioned to receive the check for 6,000 euros which has given him the director of Greater Business of Caixa in Cartagena, Sara Abellá in a ceremony at the Palace Hall which also featured the Councillor for Social Care, Antonio Calderon.
As explained by the mayor, after showing its deep appreciation to the Caixa,
the City will distribute this money to the soup kitchens of the city so they can celebrate dinner, breakfast and lunch on Christmas Eve and Christmas, a help than last year and about 700 people benefited.
For Pilar Barreiro, and his is a very important initiative, not only for the cash amount of the donation, but by what means of involvement and engagement with Caixa Cartagena, clearly showing that in addition to engaging in cultural issues, which also are important, they devoted to social issues showing great sensitivity.
