The Local Government of the City Council met in extraordinary session this morning to approve the accession of Cartagena to the Spanish Network of Cities for Accessibility.
The proposal was made ​​by Councilman Jobs and the Environment, Joaquín Segado, who explained that this network of cities will be next week in Madrid, under the presidency of Queen Sofia.
Mowing also noted that network, driven by the city of Málaga, already joined some 50 Spanish cities.
For the city of Cartagena this accession will mean greater involvement of municipal departments and according to the council will force to continue working for the new works, public spaces and buildings, accessible and barrier-free.
Also lead to continue working and collaborating with associations of disabled people, primarily from the Department of Social Services, and ultimately make the city more comfortable for all citizens in general, with measures such as the promotion of public transport, concluded Segado.
