The Ministry of the Presidency of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia has today awarded the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UCPT) and its spin-off Widhoc in the sixth edition of the Sustainable Development Awards.
UPCT received the award for the development of eco-efficiency of a project, led by researcher Ángel Molina, to control the brightness and power consumption of fluorescent tubes, both new installation as those already in operation.
The project, to be implemented soon in several buildings of the Polytechnic, is part of the TRACE program has been conducted in collaboration with the University of Castilla-La Mancha and the company Villarus.
The technology company Widhoc Smart Solution, consisting of teachers and alumni UPCT, has been nominated for the award for eco-innovation in developing wireless technology solutions that enable low cost agricultural monitoring to achieve savings in water consumption.
