Eloy Sánchez Vicente Gallego and Rosillo, two members of the jury for this award each year by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia and the People of the City University of Cartagena, have agreed to review the book Pedro Flores of finding wonderful and beautiful, a book full of deep and true poetry about places and everyday things made ​​from an extremely careful language.
Luis Alberto de Cuenca and Blanca Andreu complete the jury for this prize, this year, has agreed to consider the book canary poet best 67 poems submitted (although res t of them have been left out for not meeting the bases ), both from Spain and abroad, particularly in Uruguay, Ecuador, Venezuela and the United States, maintaining the international character of the award.
The prize is worth 5,000 euros and the publication of the poems.
PEDRO FLORES
Pedro Flores, born in 1968 in the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Since the 80s, has been dedicated to writing poetry, collections of short stories, plays and stories for children.
Since 1994 he has published more than twenty books, the last one where princes and beasts (Tragacanth, Granada).
He has won numerous awards, including the City of Tudela, City of Las Palmas, Jaime Gil de Viedma, City of Santa Cruz, Tomas Morales and has been a finalist for the National Critics Award.
Considered by critics as a poet in continuous social criticism, is transgressive, realistic, defends the dignity and criticizes contemporary society.
