The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) and public shipbuilding company Navantia have signed a collaboration agreement to do research on new materials that will facilitate the construction of submarines, such as graphene.
The rector, Jose Antonio Franco, and the Director of Shipyard, Antonio Rey Rope, have signed a framework agreement encompassing all joint actions carried out between the educational institution and the company, aimed at both improving products Navantia as professional development of students UPCT.
In addition to R & D + i, the agreement includes scholarships, work placements for students, joint events and training and continuing education activities.
Navantia UPCT and integrated in the Campus Mare Nostrum, maintain close cooperation in both research topics, such as training.
At the signing ceremony was also attended by the Chief Structural Engineering and Management Innovation Navantia, Germán Romero, the chief of staff-Navantia Cartagena Alvaro Tello, and the head of Resource Development, Antonio Fernández Soto.
