The company Telefonica of Spain Cartagena invest 16 million euros in order to extend the existing optical fiber network in the municipality and the introduction of 4G technology. The details of the technological project which is estimated to create 160 new jobs of work have been released this afternoon by the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, and the CEO of Telefónica Spain in the Eastern Territory, Javier Castro.
Joining them were present at the press conference, Councillor for Employment, Industry, New Technologies, Mobility and Sustainable Development, Joaquin Mowing, and director of Great Public Company Territory, Vicente de los Rios.
Cartagena is modernized being one of the first municipalities in the region to feature an optical fiber to reach every household, stressed Barreiro, allowing citizens and businesses are better connected, have access to a greater volume of information.
