More than fifty researchers from several continents participate from Tuesday through Thursday at a school on ionic artificial muscles that organizes the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT).
The workshop brings together "some of the world's leading experts in the field," according to its organizer, Professor UPCT Toribio Fernández Otero, who notes that half of teachers who give talks and demonstrations at school, coming from universities, research institutes and companies Spanish, English, French, Italian, Swedish, Finnish, Hungarian, American, Canadian and Korean, "are all first class."
That is why this year the annual School of the European Network of Artificial Muscles (ESNAM for its acronym in English), "has aroused great interest worldwide," adds Fernandez Otero.
In fact, the initial 40 spaces have been expanded to 58 and have been out 30 researchers who will have to follow the workshop via the Internet, thanks to the live broadcast to be performed.
The school talks will be held in morning and afternoon at the premises of the Faculty of Business, while practices will be held at the Laboratory of Electrochemistry, Intelligent Materials and Devices, directed Fernández Otero, and is located on the campus of Alfonso XIII.
The school is held with funding COST program of the European Union.
ESNAM The network brings together more than 300 researchers from around thirty countries.
