The Social Care Councillor, Antonio Calderon, along with the Vice Chancellor for Student and University Extension UPCT, Francisco Martinez, and President of the Student Council, José Manuel Teira, this morning attended the opening of the Fair II Solidarity and Awareness of the Volunteer and Disability, held during the day today in the old CIM.
Organized by the University, within the activities of the Student Welcome Week, this event has the support of the City Council through the Department of Social Services, which also has an information stand to expose the work being done from its volunteer program.
Antonio Calderon, councilor responsible for the area, has emphasized precisely in municipal support to such initiatives, which encourages voluntary at a time where it has an essential value, and also from a group so important as youth.
For their part, Francisco Martinez and José Manuel Teira insisted on the importance given to solidarity in all that is organized from the University, so that, beyond academic training is about training people, organizing activities such as now being developed, as well as others throughout the entire course, which bind, in turn, to leisure and fraternization.
