Councillor for Education, Joseph Marotta, receive on Tuesday October 1 a group of teachers and students from schools in nine European countries, which are in Cartagena to mark the Through our Eyes Comenius Project, which involved the CEIP Santiago Miranda Apostle.

The visit will be at 10.30 am in the Reception Room of the Town Hall.

Participating schools are: Skola zakladni Prague (Czech Republic), Monk Fryston Church (England), Dimotiko sxoleio Heraklion (Greece), Circolo di Matelica Didattico (Italy), Public Institution ruduo Pavasaris (Lithuania), Skola Základrá Kosice ( Slovakia), Braviksskolan of KnorrkÃ Âś ping (Sweden), CEIP Miranda Santiago Apostle of Cartagena (Spain) and the Freiherr-vom-Stein-Schule of Germany as a country Grundschule coordinator.

The project began last year and ends in Germany in May 2014, and lasted two school.

Participants in the project came to our city on Friday, staying on 28, 29, September 30 and October 1, sharing their work and experiences, and sightseeing.

The aim of this initiative is to develop knowledge about the variety and richness of European culture through arts education.

In addition to develop the creativity and imagination of the students and know the techniques used in Plastic Education in the different participating schools.

Since the project began in September 2012, students at the school have worked to the great Spanish artist Joan Miró and artist Muher region.

The children have known his life and represented his works, sharing them with other schools and exposing the best jobs.

The teachers at the school have had the opportunity to visit the participating centers of Prague, England and Sweden, coming to their facilities and observing how they work in the same.

During this school year, they shall continue in Art Education new techniques, new European artists and students delve more into European culture, getting to know the European countries involved in this project, making visits to participating schools in Slovakia and Germany.
