Remove the salt and prevent corrosion is the aim of cleansing that is taking place these days in the four domes of the Town Hall.
The marine environment to which they are subjected, by the proximity of the sea, makes depositing metallic salts on their surface that promote spoilage.
Cleaning is done with a pressure washer.
To bring up the domes staff, about 30 meters high, are being used platforms, from which operators apply water pressure.
The domes were or not the elements of the old Town Hall had more deterioration by corrosion when rushing § or its retauracion.
With wooden structures covered with zinc plates were practically rebuilt during the restoration work, completed in 2006.
As explained municipal technicians, this cleaning operation should be performed regularly every one or two years, to keep the domes in good condition.
