Eight students of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) 2013-2014 made this course a double degree at Napier University of Edinburgh (Scotland), so that when they graduate will obtain the title who have completed the diploma UPCT more Bachelor by the prestigious Scottish Polytechnic University.
This is the fourth year that students can complete their UPCT academic curriculum with a double degree in Edinburgh thanks to academic quality agreement signed between the two universities.
Students who have been selected this course belong to the School of Engineering in Civil Engineering and Ports and Mines (EICM) and the School of Industrial Engineering (ETSII) of varying degrees and graduate.
Since the beginning of the agreement, thirty students from Industrial, Telecom, Civil and Architecture have studied in Napier.
Preparing students UPCT has been evident in the results obtained by these students, as some of them have been working there or have received mentions or awards for academic merit.
This course, specifically, Noa Portela has won the medal "Adam Currie" for best Honours student of Construction and Project Management program at Napier University in Edinburgh,
To study in Napier is required to exceed a pre-screening process conducted International Relations services of the two universities.
Candidates are valued academic background, level of English, as it is necessary to be in possession of B2, and motivation.
After passing the screening, according to Beatriz Marín, head of International Relations, students make their application for admission to the Scottish university, as domestic students.
The coordinator of International Relations said that those selected are able to enjoy Scottish government scholarships covering tuition fees high in that country.
At the end of the course, students can apply for recognition of subjects passed in Napier, with a view to obtaining UPCT title.
