Cartagena Local Police will begin using this Wednesday August 7 installed cameras to monitor speeding in five intersections regulated by traffic lights in the city, which have been chosen by the specialists of the Traffic section for its loss.
The location of these systems will be modified depending on traffic requirements.
The system is one of the measures recommended traffic specialists launch in a series of special actions to improve pedestrian safety, after several assaults that have occurred in the city.
Among these measures, signaling improved pedestrian crossings, some were relocated and others marked the LED lights. Monitoring of crosses was another proposal.
Regarding the operation of the installed cameras at intersections, are activated when a vehicle exceeds a red light.
From that moment generates a series of 15 images, the time a machine vision software detects the offending vehicle registration and proposes a penalty to which is attached the image file.
An agent checks the correctness of the process and only then passed Administrative Unit Traffic Penalties for reporting purposes.
The crossings controlled by this system are those of Plaza Alicante, the i ntersecciones between Alameda San Anton and Soldier Rosillo, the Menéndez Pelayo sense semaphore Square Plaza Spain and Spain at its junction with Menéndez Pelayo.
