A revolutionary prototype high technological and innovative design that will solve problems of urban mobility, urban an electric motorcycle not only clean and quiet, but also articulated and intelligent.
This is the bet of UPCT Racing Team at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena who participated in the first edition of the international competition for engineers Smart Moto Challenge and yesterday was presented at the School of Industrial UPCT.
With this urban electric motorcycle prototype the UPCT Racing Team took second place in the Business Event of SmartMoto Challenge 2013, and granted recognition by the organization and the judges of the evidence to be best mechanical design of the articulable only motorcycle that was presented to the competition, and also the recognition of the best multimedia application design apps developed by students seeking to allow parking in urban and forwarding vehicle lights tracing the curves .
The prototype we have designed and manufactured the members of the division of UPCT SmartMoto Racing Team combines functionality and technological innovation.
Electric bike is just over 50 kilos in weight and, among many other advantages, features a hinged design that allows enter into an elevator and upload it into a home where you can save thanks to the small footprint.

During the presentation at the old Naval Hospital, attended by the Rector of the Polytechnic, Jose Antonio Franco, Emilio Trigueros the Vice Chancellor and Director of the School of Industrial, Antonio Guillamón, students showed mobility opportunities offered by the vehicle, which was introduced in the elevators of the building and its connectivity to mobile devices.
UPCT Team Racing Team, which also participates in international competitions racing cars within their division Formula Student, consists of about 40 students and has spent two years preparing the Smart Moto Challenge.
