Cecilia Noriega-Bozovich and artists Miguel Aguirre two very different but equally interesting, acid criticism her for her playful yet fetishism of power, and he because your pictures look authentic photographs.
With these words, the Councillor for Culture, Rosario Montero, presented today at Peruvian artists who have brought their works for display in Cartagena, in Room Byzantine walls, within the art section of The Sea Music Festival.
Cecilia Noriega is the author of Versus and reversus, which she defined as a complaint of fetishism of power, their rituals and their ridicule through serialization and miniaturization of phallocentric representation in our country and beyond it, and all this with a facility that has as protagonists the Presidential armchairs.
It is vision that returns a versus and reversus, hence the title of the show.
For its part, through Memorandum, Miguel Aguirre collects several works and series of work developed in recent years, with three series in full and, for the first time to the public.
Works that have been shown before, but that had not been exposed in Cartagena.
They are a collection of works I have done in the last six years, each with an own development but united by the memory of our recent history, Aguirre noted during the presentation. So on one hand there are a number which is a summary visual tragic history of Peru between 1980 and 1992, and on the other hand, are reflected bombings in Madrid on March 11, as a small tribute to the victims.
My intention is to be remembered constantly.
Both exhibitions can be visited until 31 August at the Chamber Byzantine walls.
