The Social Care Councillor, Antonio Calderon, confirmed this morning that "nowhere in this region have been identified situations that may require implementing school feeding as an extraordinary remedy" to cover children whose families are in difficult economic circumstances.
Calderon meets a general secretary of the PSOE in Cartagena, Ana Belen Castejón than an exercise "demagogic" asked not to interrupt the school meal service.
Castejón reminds Councilman at that meeting were representatives of the 45 municipalities of the Region of Murcia, including those governed by the Socialist Party, who have acted responsibly against Cartagena socialists irresponsibly talking about something as important as are "people and children when they talk about possible situations of poverty"
In this regard, the council noted that in Cartagena "from the educational community" there have been no requests to open the school canteen or have been detected by the medical services of child malnutrition cases. "
It should be remembered that these canteens closed the previous year, and in the Christmas holidays and Easter, without detecting any extraordinary situation.
Still, Calderon reminded the representatives of the PSOE that the Department will continue to work with social action organizations to cover possible situations, "coverage will not only children but entire families."
In this line of work, the city of Cartagena continues with the same actions as in previous years, performing during the month of July and at the request of some APAS, the popular summer schools which brings them from the Department of Education's breakfast, as in previous years.
Antonio Calderon concluded by saying that the Social Services serve and attend family situations, which can be detected, using all means which so far have been used, even if necessary, implement plans to meet any emergency arising from natural tragedies .
