Oriental martial arts will be featured from 21 to 23 March in Cartagena, during the celebration of First Teachers Summer Seminar Wing Tsun, a form of Defense from China, landing in Cartagena for, among other objectives, to complete the training of the officers of the local police.
Councillor for Sports, Diego Ortega, and principal instructor courses in Wing Tsun, Alfonso Acosta, have been responsible for today disclose the details of this sporting event, held for the first time in Cartagena although vocation to become a place of reference which offer courses in this discipline, replacing Palma de Mallorca, in which have been held to date, as noted Acosta.
The first day of the seminar, which is free, will be directed exclusively to local police, about 45 officers are expected to attend, while the rest of the weekend is expected to attract around a hundred practitioners of Wing Tsun, from all Spanish geography and also from abroad, since the promotion of the course has come to Italy, Germany and Britain.
Alfonso Acosta defined the Wing Tsun (in Chinese, Eternal Spring), as a fighting system with a style similar to Kung Fu, which is distinguished from the rest in that instead of feeling the movement through sight, perception is performed by touch, especially the arms, making it especially suitable for police and security forces. In Defense police, Acosta said, there is a unified approach, something that could be achieved by applying this art which is already used in prestigious bodies at European level.
The mayor of Sports, Diego Ortega, emphasized the importance that the Department give training, hence we collaborate with various groups in the organization of courses, such as Level 1 football coach presented this afternoon.
The First Summer Seminar Wing Tsun,
