On Saturday June 1 closed the XXVIII edition of Absolute Regional Chess Championship, which had been disputed since 13 April in Cartagena.
This sporting event is organized by the Association of Residents Sauces and Chess Federation of the Region of Murcia, in collaboration with the Department of Sports and Sauces Chess Club.
David Martínez, José María Lapuerta Club has been the absolute regional champion this sport, followed on the podium by Richard Banegas, club head of Torres, Julio Zapata, the Club Mar Menor, second and third place respectively.
The prize giving ceremony was attended by the Councillor for Sports, Diego Ortega, who was accompanied by Antonio Vallejo, President of the Chess Federation of the Region of Murcia, José English, President of the Neighborhood Association Sauces; Felipe Alcaraz , President of the Chess Club Sauces, and Castelvana Pascual, President of the Chess Club Coimbra Jumilla.
Over a hundred players participated in the twenty-eighth edition of this sporting event, which has been ruled by the 8-round Swiss system. Since the organization is satisfied with the development.
The winner of this year will represent the Region of Murcia in Spain Open Championship organized by the Spanish Federation of Chess (FEDA).
