The first phase of the project ended in December 2012 and has equipped water facilities, while training activities have been conducted on 241 women micro enterprise among young and rural participants Yaoundé
The City of Cartagena, through the Department of Social Services, has worked with the project implemented by the NGO in Cameroon FADE (Foundation Help, Development and Education) based on the c onstruction of a new venue with suitable expansion training center for young women as an engine of local development in Obili, Yaoundé.
To date it has successfully run the first phase of this project in which water is provided to facilities, providing construction.
In its implementation has involved a team of fifteen people (the coordinator of the project, and thirteen forming voluntary development multipliers).
In addition, also born in order to facilitate the inclusion of women in the workplace, promote their participation in civil society and to create a network of local solidarity in favor of the poor.
In short, it presents an opportunity to allow women to be more autonomous and work their way out of poverty, thanks to his work.
To achieve these goals given working method consisted of a f ormation on micro free for 20 unemployed women, while thirteen of them have shared their knowledge and have adapted to 241 unemployed rural women in six villages near Yaoundé (Benebalot , Mehandan 3 Mehandan 2 Nkolngok Nkolnda 2).
In these latter locations, the training activities are also free and have lasted two months. Lack of funding has precluded business lessons could reach the 400 women, as originally planned.
The 241 participating rural women have a total of 713 children, 1,261 and 1,854 dependents living in their homes.
The balance of this first phase is very positive since it has fostered the spirit of personal initiative, self-employment and confidence among women in Yaoundé. So, training has allowed young women enrich their curriculum and are easier to find employment, while for rural women has been a time to reflect and see how best to structure their activities to achieve their income increase.
The project, Strengthening the training center young women marginalized as local development engine, began in January 2012.
Actions supported by the City of Cartagena have concentrated on the 2nd half of 2012. This first stage ended on December 31, 2012, and its completion took ownership of the infrastructure for the operation achieved the Training Centre for the local partner Rigel Women Association Pour La Promotion De La Femme (APF).
During 2012, the Department of Social Services has funded five projects of cooeparación to development for countries classified by the UN human development index low.
Together with that of
Cameroon
has supported other projects also Cameroon, Senegal, Congo and Burkina-Faso.
The total amount of this aid was € 80,000.
