The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, this afternoon held a meeting at the Town Hall with President of the Association of Reservists and Veterans of the Armed Forces (ARVFAE), Javier Roda, on the occasion of his recent creation.
This association, which next May 1, will meet its first four months of existence, has as its objective the promotion and encouragement of Culture of Defense, while intended to maintain a military traditions rooted in their acts of homage to our flag and dropped by Spain.
This entity includes both volunteer reservists of the Armed Forces and veterans and wants to collaborate actively in the words of Roda, c on the Security Forces of the State.
Furthermore, and in relation to volunteers, aspire to be valid interlocutors with the Ministry of Defence regarding their concerns and desires, he underlined.
The ARVFAE is national, and as explained by Roda, today's visit with the mayor is due to the need to inform the civil and military authorities of the association work.
It has also clarified that Cartagena is historically linked to the militia and has the main Mediterranean port.
