The Department of Environment of the City of Cartagena has collected during the first quarter of the year, a total of 10,168 kilos of used clothing through the twenty bins installed in public and those in the two municipal recycling centers.
The pick up of used clothing and toys began operating last September, through a cooperation agreement signed with the Abraham Project Association, which is responsible for the collection of clothes placed in the containers for reuse or recycling.
The reuse of this waste is done by selling the clothes, shoes and toys recovered in establishments Abraham Project Association has spread throughout the Region of Murcia, the profits being invested in activities and social intervention projects are underway.
The total amount of waste collected through this service since it began operations now amounts to 32,707 kilograms.
