Over the next 18 to April 25, and 2, 9 and May 16 is taking place in Cartagena the course on Local Police Performance in crisis situations. Organized by the School of Public Safety of the City of Cartagena (SPACE), and Training within the Municipal Plan for 2013, this training comes with the purpose of acquiring action guidelines for handling crisis situations and first aid, as well as improving those episodes with high emotional and affective component for the professional, and the victim.
Among the subjects to be taught in this course include: principles of crisis intervention, intervention to groups and collective behavior, intervention in situations of excessive anxiety, Performance to victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault, Performance against resistance posed subjects, Intervention to subjects that are not in proper use of his mental faculties, Speech to suicide attempts and Performance in communicating bad news.
The course is aimed at managers and specialized personnel, and will last for 25 hours of teaching, being expected to involve 25 components of the local police staff.
Psychologists be taught by experts in the subject matter, which are members of GIPDE (Group Psychological Intervention in Disasters and Emergencies) and OAVD (Office for Victims of Crime Assistance).
