This morning has been delivered to the Procurement Service of the City of Cartagena ISO 9001:2008 certificate which recognizes the quality and efficiency of processes and administrative management of the Consistory, and its transparency for citizens and contractors. The event attended by the mayor, Pilar Barreiro, the Councillor for Infrastructure, Francisco José Espejo, and the head of the City Council Procurement Service, María Jesús Guerrero.
By Applus, company accredited to award this certificate, was attended by the Director of Institutional Relations APPLUS Certifier, Federico Martínez Martínez. Representing the BASIS consultant has attended Executive Resources is responsible for implementing, and managing director, Silvia Bertomeu and the consultant responsible for such implementation, Fernando Martinez Garcia.
Cartagena is the only City Council of the Region of Murcia which features warm d this certificate recognizing the work of the Procurement Service, an important organ in the mechanism of the administration, as acknowledged by the mayor.
Also, Barreiro explained that in 2012, the service handled 150 cases, equivalent to about 14 million euros in terms of recruitment.
Excellent Management Systems are management models for public administration recommended by the Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) and the Agency for the Evaluation of Public Policies and Quality of Services (AEVAL). Such systems are contained in Royal Decree 951/2005, of 29 July, which sets the framework for improving the quality of state administration.

The mayor has also responded to the reporters' questions related to the recent burglaries that have occurred in Cartagena.
Barreiro has highlighted the close cooperation between the Security Forces of the State.
