The Governing Council has authorized the hiring and spending of the construction of the new wastewater discharge from the pumping station 'Severo Ochoa' the neighborhood Peral Cartagena, and the construction of the extension of wastewater interceptor in Round Union of this city.
These works will adapt sanitation infrastructure in the Northern, Eastern and Western town of Cartagena to the greater contribution of flows generated by the new urban areas of the municipality, whose wastewater is intercepted by collectors.
New infrastructures have a budget of 1.9 million euros, financed by 80 percent by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union.
The performance is part of the General Plan of cleansing and purifying of the Region of Murcia.
The construction of the pumping station is another step in the series of actions undertaken by the regional government to provide more and better quality water.
