In order to prepare the Civil Defence volunteers facing the provision of services for next summer beaches and in moments of high concentrations, the School of Public Safety of the City of Cartagena (SPACE) taught from Saturday 13 Course April lifeguards.
The course will run for 13, 14, 19, 21, 26, 27 and 28 April and 3, 4 and 5 May.
It will last 50 hours and will train civil protection volunteers of Cartagena on the various techniques of search and rescue in the aquatic environment.
Among the subjects to be taught include: Defining SOS aquatic functions and main missions, working as a lifeguard, Risk Management, Basic components of a rescue, salvage materials, inputs and outputs on a beach, swimming adapted to rescue Rescue conscious and unconscious victims, monitoring and scanning, and Communications ICAO code.
Also, in the months before were also conducted the following training activities for the group of Civil Protection. The first of these, Communications Basic Course for Civil Protection, held two sessions, 23 and 24 March, lasting four hours each.
A total of 93 volunteers participated in this workshop.
The second course in emergency first responder health, was held on 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17 March.
A total of 90 volunteers attended the workshop that lasted 45 hours classroom and 20 hours away.
The objective was training on the techniques of first aid and basic life support injured.
These courses are r ealizan in coordination with the Emergency Department of the Region of Murcia, with the main objective to train volunteers on basic subjects for the performance of its functions.
