The Mayor of Cartagena has decreed the beginning of the file Municipal Honors and Awards for the public park the Residential Estate Santa Ana Park is renamed Scouts of Murcia, coinciding with the centenary of the youth movement that began regional career in the city of Cartagena.
In the Mayor's decree highlights the educational, civil, multiconfessional independent ideology and explorers of the Region of Murcia, consisting of more than three thousand members, and whose main objective is the training of children and young people between 6 and 21 years, with a system of self-education, with accountability and personal challenges.
The hundred-year history of the scouts in the region kicked off in early February 1913, date on which the Committee was constituted local Scouts of Spain in the city of Cartagena and from there spread to other locations in the region .
It so happens that the proposed public space, the Industrial Park of Santa Ana, has been used for years as a scout group headquarters of Residential and has hosted several times and camping scout concentrations.
The announcement of the opening of the file in the local press today, has opened a period of public exhibition for a month to adhere few persons, entities and associations wish.
The final agreement on the nomination should be adopted for next Full Council.
