Cartagena Port of Cultures registered during this Easter more than 16,000 visitors from the festive day of Dolores Friday until Easter Sunday, increasing by 12 percent compared to last year the number of museums visited per person, according reported by the Councillor for Tourism, Palazón Carolina.
Visitors have enjoyed these days numerous tourist and cultural city and their average stay has been higher than in other years, the councilor added, since many of them have visited several museums and interpretive centers.
Holy Week began with the Good Friday holiday, where all day, more than 3,000 people, including Cartagena and visitors enjoyed free access to all sites and museums, highlighting the neighborhood's busiest Roman Forum and the Roman Theatre.
Also during this time, it reopened the tourist information point port, in order to facilitate, from another of the strategic points of the city, the city information, purchasing tickets and avoid lines at the museums . Throughout the week, at this point it has served more than 1,700 visitors.
Thus, the most visited were the T eatro Roman Quarter Roman Forum, the Castillo de la Concepción and tourist boat, which this season is becoming one of the main tourist attractions.
As for the origin, there has been a 15 percent regional visitors, 59 per cent of domestic visitors and 26 percent of foreign visitors, an increase of 9 percentage points foreign visitors compared to 2012.
Cartagena Port of Cultures held open daily Easter museums, tourist sites and transport likewise extending their hours from 10:00 to 19:00, without interruption.
The Roman Theatre also extended its visiting hours to 20:00 hours.
