John XXIII Square hosts an exhibition commemorating the 75th anniversary of the organization and its Foundation 25 where access to education, employment, culture and everyday life, have been key to autonomy blind
The exhibition Best of the ONCE and its Foundation visit Cartagena to show the work of both entities that meet 75 and 25 years, respectively.
The territorial delegate ONCE in the Region of Murcia, Juan Carlos Morejon de Giron, and the area councilor and Youth Social Services of the City of Cartagena, Antonio Rodríguez Calderón, inaugurated the exhibition, with the director of ONCE Support Cartagena, Germán Moya.
The exhibition can be visited from 2 to 4 April in John XXIII Square, where a large bus down, with a usable capacity of more than 45 square meters, 12 meters long, 2.5 wide, 4 meters tall and weighing 13 tons, and perfectly accessible, show how the blind or have other disabilities can live a normal life thanks to the use of technological adaptations and everyday that have evolved over the years.
The show is a tour of the areas of life that most influence the autonomy of people: education, employment, access to culture and leisure, or simple daily life.
This shows the evolution over the years and there is a special emphasis on how new technologies-that-should always be accessible, increase people with disabilities reach unthinkable levels of autonomy and social inclusion and employment.
With this exhibition, the ONCE and its Foundation want to present how they have worked each day and will continue to make the streets, workplaces and leisure are increasingly accessible.
Visitors to the exhibition will find a section on daily life, which is an audible signal semaphore, a briefcase or an accessible voting generation mobile City4all an application and several former and current sticks and clocks or talking scales.
