Will focus on the Spanish heritage submerged, on the actions taken, progress in the protection and management of underwater archeology
The National Museum of Underwater Archeology and hosts ARQUA organized, from today until March 16, the first Congress of Nautical Archaeology and Underwater Spanish.
The first congress was made to pool the results of archaeological activities carried on underwater cultural heritage both in Spanish and in Spanish territorial waters of third countries.
Congress who have registered 300 professionals, 175 of whom made contributions, will be divided into different sections:
- Phoenician Paleoenvironment and Navigation
- Navigation and Trade in Classical Antiquity
- Navigation and Trade in Medieval and Modern Spain
- Navigation and Trade in Medieval and Modern America
- Port infrastructure
- Management of the Underwater Cultural Heritage
- Iconography and Naval Architecture
- Project of Our Lady of Mercy
