On the proposal of Councillor Rea of Culture, Archaeological Heritage, Education, Women and Celebrations, Rosario Montero, the Local Government Board has approved this morning scanning the minute books of the City of Cartagena chapter, for the eighteenth century, kept in the Municipal Archives.
As explained by the spokesman of the government team, José Cabezos, this digitization project will take place within the crimson of the Directorate General of Cultural Heritage of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, in collaboration with the Integra.
Cartagena City Council, through its Archive, has been working since the beginning of this project, which has allowed, in its different phases, digitize and medieval documents, records local chapter of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, and periodicals published between 1786 and 1939.
All these documents can be viewed and directly by citizens and researchers through the Municipal Archives website ( http://archivo.cartagena.es/ ).
This year 2013 is intended to digitize records chapter XVIII century.
These are the 42 books of records with dates between 1702 and 1800, preserved in the Municipal Archives, and collect the agreements and resolutions adopted by the Municipal Corporation in those years.

The Governing Board also approved the proposal for the same councilor who will put the name of the new Watchtower Education Center and Primary built near the future Arena.
